Stop payment on Check please help?

ladybug614881 asked:

I received a student loan check on Tuesday June 17th, I received it from Chase Bank, now I don’t have any bank accounts so I took the check to Chase Bank to cash it. They asked for 2 piece of ID, and took a fingerprint. Then they cashed the check. Now on Friday when I was looking online at my chase student loan account it says the loan was canceled (I am not sure why and I am sure it is there fault but they are not opened until Monday so in the meantime I am freaking out) My question is this, sense they didn’t cancel it until Friday, would the check that I cashed on Tuesday already have been paid? Or will there be a stop payment on the check and not be paid? I guess if the loan is canceled do you think that the student loan check as already been paid and I will need to contact the student loan department? Or do you think they issued a stop payment in enough time, and the banking branch that gave me the money never received payment from the check. and looking for me sense I have funds?
Check was issued from Chase so it was a Chase bank account, and check was cashed at a chase bank, don’t know if that is an issue, I would just rather deal with Chase Student Loans, if the check was cashed. I would rather not deal with a bank branch saying I owed them all that money cause the check did not clear.

Are there any home loans available for first time home buyers with horrible credit?

Ms. Lise asked:

My credit is really bad I am just going to be honest. I have a few old credit cards and student loans. The only thing that is a plus on my credit is my car note. Are there any lenders that are willing to work with someone like me. I have tried lenders in the past that claim they will help but they all said no.

Need help getting a mortgage?

JeffC asked:

Hello All.

I’n a bad situation where I have to move.

I’m tired of wasting money and paying 1200/mo in rent. I’d like to buy a home. Currently i’m looking to buy a 10yr old 2-Family home for $400,000.

Lower level has 2 bed 1 bath where I will live.

Upper two level have 4bedroom 2 bath, back yard, front yard gated parking, swimming pool w/ deck.

I plan on renting the upper two floors for nearly 2k/mo. I can easily afford this - but my vital stats dont look too good on paper.

Location: NYC
First time home owner.
27yrs old - single
Salary 45-55k
CC Debt: 4k
Credit Score: 700
Student Loans: 23k
Bank Account: 6.5k Cash
Downpayment: 20k
My last 3 year tax returns have been below 35k.

I filled out the online Lending Tree application and received offers from Quickenloans and American Federal.

However the second portion of this online application is the Real application.

Am I wasting my time with these companies?

Is there a better route to get a mortgage?

Is there anything I can do to pad my stats to get the loan? (additional income? larger bank account?, pay down cc debt?)

I do have additional income but it comes from side ventures and consulting (roughly 20k more).

I do not want to waste time filling out applications to places where I know I’ll end up denied.

Any advise is appreciated.

Thanks

ok i need your personal opinion. I really want to go to college and major in film production, but?

Zac asked:

i dont have alot of money right now. should i risk taking out student loans to cover this, or should i join the military and get some extra cash and be set after 4 years. Has anyone ever tried this, will they really pay for you college education with benefits and all that jazz. is this a good way for a budding filmmaker like myself to build up alittle money and try to break into the film industry, or is it better to take out the loans and slowly pay them back over time. Iam kinda in a pickle in a situtuation with no easy way out. your suggestions are welcomed!
Yeah i was going to just attend college and then join the military with student loans, but i heard the military actually has a good film programs…although i know recruiters arent always exactly honest…iam 17 btw.
