Will a Bad Credit rating be detrimental to my fiance’s visa application ?

My Fiance’ is from the Philippines and we inted to apply for a fiance visa for her to come to the UK. One of the requirements of the application is that I can Support her financialy without using public funds. I have a full time job and take home £1986 per month, but have had a bad credit rating cos of past debts, some of which show on my bank statements. I have £400 per month of disposable income after all my payables are covered (mortgage, car loan, fuel, gas etc). Will this compromise our application ?

Mortgage broker says I should refinance before selling/buying home to correct credit rating, yes/no?
Debt/income ratio too high so wants to do a debt consolidation loand prior to marketing my house and me buying another one but is that something to seriously consider? I was going to pay off my debts once the house was sold any way…

Bad Credit Unsecured Personal Loan Help?

I am on Social Security Disability and my fiance has a full time job. I have been on disability for 4 years and he has been on his job for 4 years. Together we have a gross income of $3700 a month. He has poor credit and I have fair credit. We are looking to find a bad credit unsecured personal loan to help pay off some debts. We would want it to be in his name with me as a co-signer as well. I have credit cards and debt in my name that I am paying off on my own personal loan that I received with the help of my father as a co-signer. He doesn’t want to ask his family for co-signing help. So it is just us. Does anyone have any suggestions for companies that don’t ask for a fee just to apply for a personal unsecured loan that is geared towards people with poor credit? We also have excellent rent history of living in the same apartment for over 5 years. We do not own a home. We would like to try to get a loan but don’t know if it is possible. Any suggestions would be great. Thank you.
