I’m turning 18 in a few months and I’m going to be purchasing my first car. I currently have a job in which I can afford monthly payments if I were to get a loan. I have a few questions before I go through with this:

1.) Should I take out an auto loan or a personal loan? I want get an auto loan because I hear it’s easier to get approved, BUT i’m buying my car through private party. I want to get a personal loan because I don’t want to have the private party come to the bank with me to sign the loan. Which should I go for?

2.) I have no credit, and no co-signer. But I do have pay stubs from work to prove I have enough money to cover it. What would my interest look like?

3.) What would be some good methods of building credit if this doesn’t go thru because of my lack of credit?

I have a car financed on my credit now, and I pay about 420 per month for.

I am an 18 year old college student. I have never had a job besides Work Study at my college. I have one minor student loan and a cell phone in my name. I am trying to get an auto loan for about $5,000. My mom will pay the car payment, but she is unable to get the loan personally. Does anyone have any valid suggestions?

I am looking to apply for an auto loan and need about $9000. I only began trying to establish my credit 10 mo. ago so I don’t think I have very much of it. I am going to be looking at different lenders, and can put down a $1500 payment. What do I need to know and bring with me so I am totally prepared? Because my chances aren’t tooo great for getting loan with a decent interest rate in the first place… I want them to know I’m serious and have checked all my bases. Thanks!
