I have a close friend whom was clocked at 134 in a 70mph in Michigan, but its more complicated?

CrunchyMan asked:

He was pulled over and they suposidly ran and tackled him off his Brand New Crotch Rocket and he had a licensed pistol strapped to his ankle. They pinned him to the ground and tossed him in Jail and contacted his father more than 7 hours later and the stories of the officer and my friend differ VERY significantly. He has been accused of 2 felonies; fleeing eluding the law, and the licensed pistol is an automatic 2nd felony due to the first. He does have several points for random minor traffic violations but nothing at all sevre. No other run-ins with the law either, plus he had 100% Zero drugs in him and did have a legitimate concealed weapons permit and a personal loan from a bank to get the bike - which are both not easy to obtain. The wrecker also mentioned his bike was back its side when he came to get it - which the police supposidly stood back up. What is he likely to come out of this with? *and to those who say He should have the whole book thrown at him! dont bother please

Benefits available to very short-term military service?

Kim Y asked:

My hubby only did 18 months in the army out of a two year committment. He was discharged, but not negatively. Hubby believes that he doesn’t qualify for any benefits, but has never made the effort to find out if he would.

Today, he is 100% disabled from a stroke (not related army duty). We need to find out if he could qualify for a Vet home loan or life insurance for him. [I have medical insurance for him at my work and he gets medicare, so that is not an issue]. He is 38 yrs old, had stoke when he was 32.

** Incidentally, my Dad was a WW2 vet, and NEVER partook of the Vet loan process. He went the ’standard’ mortgage way and has his home. Is there anyway Dad can pass to us his Vet status for a Vet home loan? ***

* Is my hubby a vet?
* If so, would he qualify for a Vet home loan?
* Any Life Insurance / stroke-friendly available?
* Is my Dad’s Vet status usable?

Thanks ahead of time for your help!

Folks - don’t read so fast!
His stroke had NOTHING to do with the service…it occurred some 10 years after he was discharged. Thx.

Where could I find a bad credit loan?

nowhat? asked:

I need a personal loan but my credit is not so good. Can anyone give me some advice on where to look?

401k loan or a bank loan?

sean r asked:

I need about $10,000 in next few months - which is better, taking out a 401k loan or doing a seperate bank loan… with these in mind…
401k loan - $10,000 at 5% over 3 years
Bank loan - $10,000 at 5% over 3 years

Lets compare apples to apples on this, same interest rate and same amount… what are the tax advantages or disadvantages (when i repay the 401k loan i pay it with after tax money so that is a mark against the 401k loan), short term benefits, long term benefits, credit score hit, etc…
